Glossopdale Devils have been in existence now for almost 10 years after being formed by Len Judge.

Len put down some excellent foundations a number of years ago and the Club has strived to maintain a high quality ever since. Players generally live within the towns of Glossop, Hayfield or New Mills although during the last few seasons we have seen players joining from within the North West Region. Such is the appeal of the Club, where once you join you become part of a very big family.

 

In fact, Glossopdale Devils boast one of the largest Player memberships within the North West Region.
Last Season was the 5th successive year that Glossopdale Devils have been represented in the BIPHA National Finals and the best in terms of the number of Age-groups that have qualified with the Under-10’s, Under-14’s, Under-18’s, Under-21’s and Seniors all appeared at Virtual Ice through the Summer. Our Under-10 Squad became the British National Champions not just in BIPHA  but also in GB Inline, with no fewer than 5 of the Squad being selected for Great Britain. We also had representation at U-12 for GB.

 

The Club, based in the High Peak are justly proud of our achievements – particularly at the younger age groups where Glossopdale Devils have established a reputation for consistently providing high quality young players. Last Season the Under-10’s won the League in Central Region and the Under-12 A Squad won their League at Deeside (FIHL).

Much of the success can be attributed to the Club’s Development Schemes and also to the dedication of a number of Team Managers who all work hand-in-hand to ensure the Club competes at the highest level. The emphasis has always been that Players should enjoy their hockey and whilst you might not see Devils winning the high-profile Tournaments, you will always see them competing well. Last Season began a change and Glossopdale Devils could well be in contention for more top honours. Our Players will be unmistakable – they are the ones with the big smiles and Red Shirts with a large ‘G’ on the front

(unless we’re in our new ‘Away’ strip of White – but you’ll not mistake the G for Glossopdale!).
